Benefits are payable in accordance with the Union rule book and any entitlement depends on paying your contributions regularly and not falling into arrears. Benefits can only be claimed (except dispute benefit) after 12 months' continuous membership. * Please note each Sickness Grant is a 'one-off' payment for the period stated and is NOT payable weekly.

** Please note that members on Free Life / Superannuated Scale B membership are entitled to a Funeral Grant of £210.

Union grants are paid by bank transfer within 30 days of Usdaw's receipt of a fully completed claim. Recipients of the grants will be required to provide bank details for payment.
 

Assault at Work Grant

The Assault at Work Grant is a discretionary one-off payment made subject to the FirstCall Usdaw qualifying conditions set out here. Members must first register a personal injury claim through FirstCall Usdaw (0800 055 6333). The grant is available to those that are considered to have a personal injury claim which enjoys reasonable prospects of success. If any subsequent claim is successful and the member receives compensation for their injuries the Assault at Work Grant is repayable by the member.
