Jeff Broome elected as Usdaw President

Jeff Broome

Jeff Broome has been elected as President of Usdaw for the next three years beating off three challengers by polling more than 45 per cent of the vote.

Jeff works at Boots Logistics in Nottingham and has served on the union's governing body, the Executive Council, for 12 years.

General Secretary, John Hannett said: “Congratulations to Jeff on winning this vote and I look forward to working with him as Usdaw President. Together we can build on the union's recent successes on the industrial and political scene. I have known Jeff for many years and know I can count on his full support in helping the union achieve its objectives.”

Jeff will take up his position in May 2006 for a period of three years and replaces the outgoing Marge Carey, President for nine years, who did not stand for re-election.
