Scottish rep revisits history with great grandfather’s book

Date: 20 January 2015 Scottish rep Bob McHardy is revisiting history as he brings back to life the words, poems and songs of his great grandfather’s book Bonnie Montrose.
First published in 1899 and written by William F McHardy the book celebrates the coastal town of Montrose, its people and the local countryside. More than one hundred years later some of the poems and songs still strike a chord in the 21st century with descriptions of family life, Scottish identity, and the trials and tribulations of the human spirit.
Tesco rep Bob said: “Profits from book sales will help raise money for charity. I’m delighted we have ‘resurrected’ this book so a new audience can enjoy it.
“Many thanks to everyone who have made it happen and I hope readers enjoy the journey back in time to the people and places of Montrose.”
The book Bonnie Montrose, Poems and Songs, by W F McHardy is available from internet booksellers and book shops in the area and profits will go to Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.
