John Hannett – Usdaw General Secretary says: “I am honoured to have been re-elected as President and I thank the affiliated unions for putting their trust in me again.
“It has been a challenging last four years and I expect the next four years to be equally busy. The commerce sector has transformed dramatically and inevitably there has been an impact on employment and jobs. More and more workers are on low hours, zero-hours and temporary agency contracts; struggling to get by in low paid insecure jobs.
“Promoting quality jobs for quality services will be the key to our strategy to improve workers’ lives and win for our members.”
