Usdaw raises concerns over proposed Unilever takeover bid

Date: 17 February 2017 Usdaw has today contacted Unilever following its initial rejection of a takeover bid by Kraft Heinz.

Daniel Adams – Usdaw National Officer says: “I have contacted Unilever senior management to seek assurances following today's news of a predatory takeover by Kraft Heinz. Usdaw members employed at sites in Port Sunlight and Leeds are naturally concerned that any takeover could lead to cost cutting and staff reductions.

“We will be monitoring the situation closely and doing everything possible to safeguard the jobs and incomes of our members."
