Daniel Adams - Usdaw National Officer says: “At this stage Usdaw has very little information beyond what has been briefed to staff today. However, what is clear is that the level of cuts that are being proposed are not only brutal but go to the very heart of members’ terms and conditions.
“Employees at BCM Fareva have worked throughout the coronavirus pandemic and for this to be their reward is appalling. Earlier this year we settled a long-running pay dispute, after staff rejected a wage freeze. It is deeply disappointing that the company is again undermining our members.
“Usdaw will be engaging in talks with the company to try to get more detail before determining our response. However, given the scale of the cuts, we cannot rule anything out including balloting for industrial action.”
