IKEA proposes the closure of their Tottenham store as part of a London restructure – Usdaw will now enter into consultation talks

Date: 30 March 2022 Retail trade union Usdaw will now enter into consultation talks after IKEA today announced the proposed closure their Tottenham store, putting around 450 jobs at risk.
Dave Gill - Usdaw National Officer says: “This is devastating news for staff working at the Tottenham store and Usdaw will now enter into meaningful consultation talks with the company to interrogate the business case for the proposed closure.

“Our priorities are to seek redeployment opportunities, avoid compulsory redundancies and secure the best deal we can for staff. In the meantime Usdaw is providing our members with the support, advice and representation they need through this period of uncertainty.”
