Shopworkers to lobby MPs about Sunday trading

Members of the shopworkers’ trade union will descend on Parliament today in a lobby of MPs to oppose Government changes to Sunday trading, ahead of a vote of all MPs during the Enterprise Bill’s Report Stage on 8 or 9 March.

Shopworkers’ trade union leader John Hannett has responded to a report by the British Retail Consortium titled Retail 2020: Fewer but better jobs, which suggests that there could be 900,000 fewer jobs in retail by 2025.
