Shopworkers’ trade union leader Paddy Lillis welcomes the Offensive Weapons Bill, which is due for its second reading in the House of Lords on Monday. Usdaw is calling on the Government to provide greater protection for shopworkers who will enforce the new law at the point of sale.

Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw has warned the Government not to remove vital safeguards that protect low-paid workers against rogue employers unfairly deducting pay. The call comes after reports that the Business Secretary is considering changes to help employers avoid ‘technical breaches’ of the rules.
