National Retail Workers' Day

Date: 13 July 2024

On 15 July this year, Usdaw is launching the first National Retail Workers’ Day. The day reflects the social and economic importance of retail jobs and retail workers across the UK.

Retail workers are vital to our town centres and communities. Usdaw wants to highlight the brilliant work that retail workers do in stores, along with their dedication to their roles.

Usdaw represents hundreds of thousands of workers across the UK retail sector. We continue to make a crucial difference for retail workers by delivering better jobs and better terms and conditions within the sector.

This includes:

  • Negotiating higher pay rates and more secure employment contracts.
  • Calling for urgent action to ‘Save Our Shops’ and revitalise our High Streets.
  • Delivering for our members in the workplace, including negotiating supportive policies on the menopause, greater support on mental health issues and caring for children and family.
  • Working with employers, politicians and the police to tackle abuse, threats and violence towards retail workers.
Thank You for Supporting National Retail Workers’ Day!
