Daniel Adams - Usdaw National Officer says: “Following the news that Walgreens Boots Alliance intends to sell a majority stake in Alliance Healthcare earlier today, we have contacted the business for an urgent meeting to better understand the implications of the proposed deal on the UK business.
“At this stage, as far as we understand, the sale is still subject to regulatory approval and is unlikely to be concluded until later this year. Equally, there have been no indications from the business that this will have any impact on jobs or employment within the UK.
“Nevertheless, this is still likely to be an unsettling time for members in Alliance Healthcare who have been in the frontline in the battle against coronavirus. Usdaw will, therefore, be seeking assurances on jobs, members' terms and conditions as well as intended future plans.”
